Logitech GT Force steering for PS3

Got our hands on the Logitech GT Force steering for PS3 Friday night, its absolutely awesome. It astoundingly feels like real racing thanks to the Force Feedback Technology from Logitech that makes the experience more real by not only giving you jerks and rumbles when you hit a wall or another car but it actually lets you feel the road, every little bump of tar is sent directly to your hands.

Furthermore you feel the resistance of the road by your tyres which gives you a simulated experience when taking corners or on tilted Nascar flavored tracks. Logitech and the makers of GT5 went a further step to include drive time controls such as traction, ABS, 4wd and so on to give you accurate control of the feel of your ride.and not all rides have the same additional controls.

If you are a bad driver you would rather stick to the regular dual shock 3 because the logitech steering will give you a powerful Tyre swerve effect when you take a miscalculated attempt at a corner literally overpowering you for control like a real car. And get this; if you take your hand off the steering on a straight the steering will gradually swerve from left to right and increase the effect like a pendulum until you take control again. The analogue foot pedals allow you to apply any amount of foot pressure and luckily there are manufactured with different axis which means that they give individual pressure, they are a bit weak though but I'm guessing this was made to
combat foot fatigue.

The best thing about it is that the steering will give you a different feel when driving different vehicles, for example I played almost the whole of Saturday using a Honda Civic and I mastered it such that I didn't need to upgrade it but once I bought an Integra, I couldn't do certain things quite as well such as drifting.

Oh and for once the first person view Is finally a logical option because the steering gives you accurate feedback on taking corners such that you don't need to see the full car body to determine that you have taken the correct angle on the driving line. And besides you get a greater impression of speed with 1st person view since the camera is closer to the ground also giving you the bonus of hearing enhanced intricate tyre to tar sounds that you cant get from full car view.

Gone are the days of having to know a track corner by corner to get better lap times with the Logitech your innate driving skills can get you though even on the first attempt, not saying that its easier but a greater driving experience that shocked the watch of my wrist. Might I add that that choice of either using stick shift gear and pedal shifters is wonderful and enhances the experience of using manual transmission.

Bottom line if you are a fan of racing this is a must have to compliment your gaming investment..... You got to get it, it's worth 10 times more than its price.
